Faruk Guder is Associate Dean and Professor of Operations Management in the School of Business Administration. He served as the chairperson of the Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) Department from 1999 to 2004. He received his Ph.D. and MBA degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Guder teaches both graduate and undergraduate-level courses in Quality Management, Managerial Statistics, Data Analysis, Operations Management, and Database Systems at the School of Business Administration. He was the Outstanding Faculty of the year - MBA-HCM program in 2007-2008; Faculty of the Year - Undergraduate School of Business in 2006-2007; and Faculty of the Year - Graduate School of Business in1998-1999.

His research interests include quality management, inventory management, and distribution problems. He has published in several journals, including Management Science, Mathematical Programming, Transportation Science, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and European Journal of the Operational Research.

Dr. Guder is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). He is a two-time Examiner for the Illinois Lincoln Award for Business Excellence.
